This week we have written a persuasive letter to the council to try to stop them building on the ‘Wilderness’ from our class novel. We had arguments like children have the right to play and the Wilderness is a great place to play, you can’t cut down the trees and ruin lots of animals habitats and there isn’t enough space in the street for more houses and cars. We used persuasive techniques like questions and emotive language.

In Numeracy, we have been doing 3 chilli challenges where we choose a set of questions to practise lots of our learning from this year.

In PE, we played dodgeball and practised our athletics skills.

In Health and Wellbeing we have been learning all about cool, avoidant and aggressive responses. We acted out some scenarios today thinking about the 3 different responses. The P3s also learnt about the words gay, lesbian, bisexual and heterosexual and what they mean. We discussed what it was like to be in love and that families can have 2 mums, 2 dads or a mum and a dad.

We have been keeping record of the football scores and we are excited about Scotland playing again tonight. We learnt about some of the players in the Scotland squad.

In Science, we learnt that sound comes from vibrations that travel between particles in the air all the way to our ear. We saw vibrations by banging drums with rice on top, hitting a tuning fork and looking for ripples in water and playing with elastic bands! We watched a video to show how this allows us to hear and make sense of the sounds.
