Hot Meal: Soup of the day, Chicken Korma with Rice & Garlic Bread or Creamy Broccoli and Cauliflower Korma with Rice & Garlic Bread.

S2/4/6 Year Groups – Equally Safe at School (Mr Farquharson)
Any learner in S2, S4 or S6 who did not complete the ‘Equally Safe at School’ survey two weeks ago in the Assembly Hall, should register with their period 3 teacher and then report to the IT Hub.

Fife Festival of Music (Mrs Simpson)
All pupils that took part in the Fife Festival of Music as a soloist or as part of an ensemble, should come to the Assembly hall at the start of break today.

S3 First Chances (Dr Black)
Can all S3 First Chances pupils attend a short meeting at break time today in A6, about the visit from St Andrews University.

Senior Young STEM Leaders (Miss Irvine)
Can all those who are S5/6 Young STEM Leaders and are interested in visiting Torbain Primary for British Science Week, please attend a meeting in A1 today at lunchtime to discuss the trip. If you want to come but can’t attend the meeting please see Miss Irvine beforehand.

Rugby Tournament (Mr Harrower)
Any boys in S1 or S2 who are interested in playing in an upcoming rugby tournament should attend a meeting next Tuesday (25th February) at 1:25pm in the boys gym. Attendance is essential if you are keen to play or would like more information.

S4 Course Choice (Mrs Hamilton)
S4 pupils will be meeting with their guidance teacher on Monday 24 February to complete their course choice for next session. Information has been emailed to parents/carers and it is important that you discuss your choices at home prior to your appointment. Appointment times will be emailed to parents/carers later this week and will also be displayed on the glass cabinets outside the old guidance room. Please check your time prior to Monday.

Sutton Trust Presentation (Mr McCowan)
Calling all S5 pupils! Representatives from the Sutton Trust will be visiting the school on Thursday 20 February Period 5 in the Library to talk about the amazing opportunities to study at the University of Edinburgh from July 14th to July 19th where you would get to stay in university halls, make a load of new friends, and study a range of subjects that interest you including:

Social Subjects
Law
English
Computing
Engineering
Sciences
Medicine and Vet Medicine

Yoga for Managing Exam Stress – Senior School (Mrs Patton)
Starting after school Tuesday 25 February, 3.40pm – 4.15pm. I will be starting a yoga class for senior exam pupils where we will be focusing on how to use yoga techniques to help manage exam stress. No yoga experience is necessary and all equipment will be provided. If you want to find out more, please come and see me in B21. I will sort the room location once I have a better idea of numbers.

Article 3: Best Interests of the Child – Fact ” You have the right to have a say in all decisions that affect you. This includes your course choices that you have just been making!”

Article 27: Healthy Food – Free Food (Mrs Young)
We are trying to reduce food waste therefore can you please come along to D2 at the end of each day to make use of the free food that is available. This will include food that has been cooked in home economics as well as fresh food that needs to be used up. This will be available every day on a first come first served basis and will help make sure food does not get binned which is good for us and the environment! There is usually even more excess on a Friday so get down ASAP!

KHS Radio Show on K107FM (Dr Murray) 📻
We present a weekly show on Kirkcaldy’s radio station, K107FM every Wednesday. You could be involved. We meet every Wednesday in A4 (Dr Murray’s room in Science) to plan the show. Come along and bring your lunch! See Dr M for a lunch/building pass.

Anime and Manga Club (Ms Kelsey)
Anime and Manga club will be on a Wednesday lunchtime in B29.

Glee Choir (Mr Wilkie)
Glee Choir will run in the Music Department on Tuesday & Wednesday lunchtime in E12.

Classics Film Club (Mrs Brown)
Classics Film Club is at lunch time today. All welcome. Bring your lunch to C11. See me in advance for a pass. Historical Action/Adventure: In Roman-ruled Britain, a young Roman soldier endeavours to honour his father’s memory by finding his lost legion’s golden emblem.

S6 Yearbook & Prom Committee (Miss Lipton)
The Yearbook and Prom Committee will meet from 3:25pm each Wednesday in D9.

S3-S6 Netball (Mrs Little)
S3-S6 will train on a Wednesday night 3:30-4:15pm.

S2 Football (Mr Pennel)
S2 Football will run Wednesday after school from 3:25-4:15pm.

S1-S3 Study Club (Dr Black)
If you need a place to complete your homework or get some extra practice in come along Wednesdays after school in D10, 3:30-4:30pm.

THURSDAY 20 FEBRUARY

Chess Club (Dr Black)
Chess club runs Thursday lunchtimes in A6, 1:10-1:40pm. Beginners to Grand master’s welcome. Collect a lunchtime pass from Dr Black if you would like to come along.

Equality Group (Dr Murray)
The KHS Equality Group meets every Thursday lunchtime in A4. Anyone who is interested in any aspect of equality is welcome whether it be age, disability, gender reassignment, marriage and civil partnership, pregnancy and maternity, race, religion or belief, sex, and sexual orientation. See Dr Murray for a pass. Bring you lunch!

Biology Study Support (Biology Teachers)
Biology study support will take place on Thursdays 3:25-4:25pm in A1, A2 or A3. All levels welcome.

Together We Can Group (Miss Johnston)
Together We Can group is on after school, Thursdays in the PE department from 3:30-4:15pm.
