Word of the Week (Mrs MacKenzie)

Usurp

Definition:  To usurp something (such as power) is to take and keep it by force and without the right to do so. Usurp can also mean “to take the place of by or as if by force.”

Example:  Some people have accused city council members of trying to usurp the mayor’s power.

Rights of the Fortnight (Mrs Young)
Global Goal 13:  Clean Water

Fact:   ¼ of the people across the world still do not have access to clean water. This can lead to death by dehydration or through illnesses caught by drinking unclean water.
