Welcome to P2/3!
We are very excited to be in P2/3 at Canongate Primary School. Our teachers are Miss Campbell and Mrs Hogben. We also have lots of other adults who help us throughout the week.
So far this term we have been enjoying reading and practising our sounds. We love our cosy reading corner and there are lots of books for us to choose from. We have also enjoyed listening to daily stories and are excited to start Fantastic Mr Fox with Miss Campbell!
We have been working hard with our writing and have been practising forming our letters, using finger spaces and correct punctuation. Some of us have been learning to use question marks and exclamation marks. We are focussing on imaginative writing this term. One of our favourite writing activities was the ‘Gorilla in the Jungle’ writing prompt…it was very funny to make up a story about what the silly gorilla was doing!
In number we have been playing lots of games to help us learn place value. We love the Super Mario number cards!
We are excited to start our farming topic. We want to learn all about the different kinds of food that farms produce and why they are grown at different times of the year. We are also interested in the different types of tools and machinery that are needed on the farm.
We have been very busy and we are looking forward to an exciting term!
