Christmas Sumdog Challenge results

Class winners in the Math’s S1 Christmas Sumdog Challenge were Dane Johnstone, Samantha Ellis, Ava Fairfield, Sean Hirst, Scott Downie, Peter Duncan, Jamie Stephen and Shane Edmonds.

A special mention for Ellie Adamson and Niamh Gilchrist-Brown who achieved the “Highest score” and “Highest accuracy” respectively.

Well done to the large numbers of pupils who took part in the challenge and scored some very high results!

SCHOLAR

Just a reminder that SCHOLAR are running weekly online sessions to support STEM, Languages and English subjects at National 5, Higher and Advanced Higher level.  The recordings can be viewed via the SCHOLAR Online Tutor Sessions page; pupils can log in as a “guest”.

To access the bank of support materials – e.g. course notes, recordings, worksheets, revision materials – pupils must log into SCHOLAR with their SCHOLAR account details.  SCHOLAR details can be requested from class teachers and/or the LRC.

S3 into S4 Course Choice

Following the completion of the ‘mock’ course choice process and an analysis of the preferred options for the current S3 year group a final offer of courses has been created.  Consequently some young people will be disappointed, however, this final offer represents the ‘best fit’ offer for the highest percentage satisfaction of pupil choices and viable classes in S4 next session.

The TOOLs online course choice systen has been re-opened today and can be at:
https://www.studentoptions.co/bbhs2019-S4/

Pupils entering S4 in Session 2019-2020 should now select their recommended English and Mathematics choice from each of the first two options available and then their five further choices plus a reserve choice in order of preference.

Course Counselling takes place on Monday, 11th February for current S3 pupils and the system will remain live throughout this time.  Appointment times will be posted outside the Guidance Office, in the Dining Hall and in the Assembly Hall
next week and pupils should look out for these going up.

Any incomplete choices will be completed at course counselling and, if changes to pupil choices are necessary following discussions with the Guidance Team and Curriculum Leaders, these will be confirmed to parents/carers by email.

The following documentation provides a brief guide explaining how to complete the online course choice prior to course counselling.
