We made our own shrinking keyrings in the oven! We couldn’t believe how much they changed after only 3 minutes!
We also had our first sewing lesson! We designed a Christmas bauble and cut the felt to the correct size and shape. Then we started to sew, filled the bauble with stuffing and added a ribbon to help us hang them on our Christmas trees at home! We had lots of fun and can’t wait until our next sewing project!
For homework we had to make our own Targe. We used lots of different materials to make them and as you can see they came in all different shapes and sizes!
We have really enjoyed looking at all the different designs and colours everyone used.
Primary 7 went to the Falkirk stadium last year. When we were there we heard about a competion to try and stop racism. We got the choice to make a song, poem, poster, t-shirt and make a dance. All of p7 decided to enter this competion. Some made posters and some made poems we will be sending them away next week. The prize is a trip to go to Hampden Park for a day! Rene
We have been learning about the leaders of the Second World War. We created life size drawing of them and put them up in our classroom. We have been learning facts about each leader and we stuck these around them.

We made medals with plaster of Paris. We had to write on the plasticine back to front then we made little cases for them and then painted them once they dried. After that we put a ribbon on them to go round our necks. They look like real Olympic medals!

On Monday 12th of March P5N painted some of the mural in the wee end. The mural shows healthy ways to come to school. We had to wear a white jump suit and a mask to protect our self from the spray paint so we don’t get our clothes all stained. All of our class enjoyed doing the mural and it was really good painting the wall. We all got to spray paint one part of the wall that Scott gave us to do on the mural. Some of us sprayed the flowers or some of us painted some of the bushes or the bike. P5N all enjoyed doing the mural it was great fun.
Primary 5N recently entered a competition to design football strips. An area of forest in the Borders is being turned into a temporary football pitch for an art project forming part of the London 2012 Cultural Olympiad. Primary 5N submitted designs for the strips which could be worn by the four amateur teams taking part in the event. The winning designs for the four football strips used during the event will be chosen from around 1,000 entries in the New Year. We can’t wait to hear how we did!
