Model Croft Houses

Last week in P6/7 we were pretending that we were crofters like in 1700-1800 of the Highland Clearances so we built our own crofts.  Crofts are like houses and they used whatever they could find to build them.  We found stones, wood, grass etc. and built them into a mini model croft.  We built them outside first and then brought them inside but it left a bit of a mess!

P3 RME

In RME we have been learning about Spring and New Life. We went for a walk in the playground to look for signs of Spring. We found a blossom tree, buds starting to grow on trees, flowers growing in the quiet area, daffodils, a bee collecting nectar from a flower, a butterfly, new trees starting to grow and new grass growing.

Them Bones…

P2 are learning all about our bodies.  We have learned about external body parts and their functions.  Now we are learning about internal body parts.  We were thinking about bones and why we have them.  We worked in groups to make skeletons with moving arms and legs!  Here is what we know about bones:

The bones keep our brain safe – Charlie

Bones keep your body nice and straight – Morgan

The bones keep our hearts and lungs safe – Conor

Bones help us stay up and not be all wobbly – Callum

Bones help you move – Amy

Bones are soft on the inside but hard on the outside – Abi

P2 Get a Visitor!

An alien has appeared in the P2 class!  He left a letter explaining that he had crash landed in Camelon and his spaceship would take a while to get fixed.  He has asked the children to help him find out more about Camelon.  We went for a walk to show Zap the Alien the different kind of houses around Camelon.  Keep watching to find out what we do next!

Yesterday I went for a walk we saw lots of house’s.  I liked going for a walk.  I felt happy.  I took a picture of my little  brother with Zap.  I had lots of fun.  We all took a picture.

Bird Cake

Some of us went to the staffroom to make bird cake. First we cut up the lard. Then we put the lard into the plastic mixing bowl with the bird seed and raisins. After that we squashed it together with our hands. Then we put the mixture into plastic cups and then into the fridge. Finally, we washed our hands.

Bird Feeders

We worked in groups to make our own recycled bird feeders. First we rinsed out the bottles in the sink. Next we cut a hole in the front of the bottle. Then we made holes in the bottom of the bottle to let the water drip through. After that we out a hole in the lid of the bottle so we could attach wire to the bottle to hang it up.
