S3 Languages for Life and Work

On the 24th September, pupils in the S3 Languages for Life and Work class visited Trianaid Care Home in North Uist. The purpose of the visit was to meet staff and learn about the day-to-day running of the care home. Pupils were commended for asking insightful questions about the job opportunities in the care sector and also about the importance of being able to speak Gaelic to residents whose first language is Gaelic. The residents were also treated to some tunes on the accordion by Kieran MacAulay. The ceilidh was enjoyed by everyone in attendance!

We are very grateful to the staff at Trianaid for making the pupils feel so welcome and we are also grateful to our DYW officer, Sharon MacRury, for arranging the visit and to Neil, our janitor, for driving the minibus. Mòran taing dhuibh uile!
