NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are looking to recruit 75 young people aged between 16 and 24 for a Modern Apprenticeships. Apprentices are paid the living wage, rather than the apprentice wage, with a minimum starting salary of £16,086 or £8.25 per hour. Apprentices receive the same benefits as all NHS staff including 27 days paid annual leave and 8 public holidays. Apprentices gain formal qualification and are guaranteed a permanent job upon successful completion of the Modern Apprenticeship. Apprenticeships are available in the following fields: Administration Decontamination – Sterile Services E-health – Health Records, Library Assistant and IT Procurement Engineering – Estates, Sterile Services, Medical Physics and Bio-engineering Health and Safety Healthcare support workers – Community Services including Community Children’s Services and Oral Health Healthcare Support Workers – Health Science Services including Audiology, Ophthalmology and Orthotics Health care Support workers – Nursing specialties including Theatres Life Sciences – Laboratories Pharmacy – Pharmacy Technicians Prosthetics – Prosthetics Technician Entry requirements vary for each post and will range from National 4 qualifications or their equivalent up to Higher’s or equivalent.
