Modern Apprentice

City of Glasgow College has an exciting opportunity for 3 Modern Apprentices in Business Administration, Finance and Education.

What will I learn?

You will be allocated a designated training assessor who will support and guide you through your Modern Apprenticeship Programme (SVQ Level 2). This will allow you to work as an employee of the City of Glasgow College whilst working towards a recognised vocational qualification.

You will gain valuable experience which will link with the SVQ and also develop skills in a wide range of areas including: IT, communication skills, prioritising workload and time management skills. You will also gain knowledge and experience of working in a busy College environment and how to adapt to various situations.

What might a typical day look like?

This role will require a varied level of interaction in speaking to students and employees in order to provide a high quality, customer focused Finance service. In addition to this, you will assist the Finance team in the provision of an effective and accurate purchase and sales ledger system whilst contributing in the maintenance of finance databases and support systems by input and retrieval of data.

What is required for the role?

Must have a minimum of an SCQF level 5 in Numeracy and Communication or equivalent

A PVG Disclosure Check (which will be completed by the City of Glasgow College upon appointment)

Eligibility to to work in the UK

The provision of two satisfactory references

As this role is funded through Skills Development Scotland, it is only open to applicants between the ages of 16-19
