The National Audit Office (NAO) scrutinises public spending for Parliament. Their public audit perspective helps Parliament hold government to account and improve public services. The NAO have an exciting school leaver programme for Year 13s looking for professional accountancy tuition and on-the-job training, leading to a qualification as a Chartered Accountant. Applications for the NHS Modern Apprenticeship Programme are now open. NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde are looking to recruit 75 young people aged between 16 and 24 for a Modern Apprenticeships. Apprentices are paid the living wage, rather than the apprentice wage, with a minimum starting salary of £16,086 or £8.25 per hour. Apprentices receive the same benefits as all NHS staff including 27 days paid annual leave and 8 public holidays. Apprentices gain formal qualification and are guaranteed a permanent job upon successful completion of the Modern Apprenticeship. Vehicle Parts Modern Apprenticeship

The role involves working in the parts department,  giving customer advice, ordering required parts, components or accessories and updating computer systems. Basic motor vehicle technology will be a part of the course as well as telephone and sales techniques. Applicants must have or expect to gain qualifications in English, Maths, and an Admin or Computer Studies subject, at  National 4 or above, Intermediates are also accepted. Modern Apprenticeship – Medical Laboratory Assistants

The NHS are holding an information evening for those interested in applying for the Medical Laboratory Assistant Modern Apprenticeship at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital on Wednesday 16th November. The Engineering Academy Training Session

The Engineering Academy at the University of Strathclyde is holding an early evening information session at Glasgow Clyde College’s Cardonald Campus on Tuesday 15th November from 6pm to 7.30pm at Cardonald Campus. Pupils, parents and teachers are warmly invited to attend. The event promoted ‘The Engineering Academy’ where the first year is taken as an enhanced HNC programme within one of our partner colleges and successful completion of this year allows students to transfer directly into the second year of one of our eligible engineering degree programmes. During the session, you will have the opportunity to meet members of the Engineering Academy Team from both the University of Strathclyde and Glasgow Clyde College who will explain the different pathways to becoming an Engineering Academy student as well as the benefits and opportunities the programme offers.
