Literacy

P1b have had a lovely start to our Friday morning! Chloe brought in her letter from Santa to share with us this morning

We also had a message from Sprinkle on our blue board this morning!

We decided to take Sprinkle’s advice and we did some letter writing for our target!

We also reflected on how we felt during the nativity and what made us feel like that.

Fantastic work today Primary 1!

Nativity!

Thank you so much to all of our parent and caters for helping us get organised for our performances over the last couple of days! We all looked great in our costumes and we had a brilliant time! We hope you enjoyed the show!

Achievements

Well done Hannah for being dancer of the month at her Irish dancing class! We loved the demo you gave us in class!

Our elf arrived!

Primary 1b had a package delivered all the way from the North Pole this morning!

Santa asked us to name our elf so we all had a chance to choose some names and then we voted to narrow it down to 4 options – Icy, Sprinkle, Snowball and Snowflake! We all had the chance to cast our vote and we made a pictogram with the results!

We counted up the results and our elf has been given the name Sprinkle! We wrote a letter to Santa to let him know and we have popped it in the envelope on our tree for Sprinkle to take to the North Pole tonight.

We are delighted with the new addition to our class and can’t wait to see how much mischief he gets up to!

Number work

Allan and Lacie have been working so hard on their numbers this week! We have been playing lots of games to work on our number recognition and we have been ordering numbers to 10 and counting out quantities to 10! What fantastic work Allan and Lacie, well done!

Outdoor learning!

P1b have had a lovely afternoon outside today! On our walk we had a wee look in  fairy tree to see if we could spot any fairies!

We made fantastic tree rubbings

We used the magnifying glasses and the binoculars to see if we could spot any interesting creatures and we managed to find lots and lots of worms! We wondered if any of them were Superworm!!!

We found lots of interesting leaves and made some pictures! We’ve brought lots back to school to look at next week!

Then we had a treat of hot chocolate!

What a brilliant afternoon!

Woodland visit

Primary 1b are very excited about going up to the woods tomorrow, can our families please remember to pack us some waterproof, warm clothes that they won’t mind getting muddy! Thank you!

Yoghurt pots

Primary 1b are collecting yoghurt pots so that we can have a go at growing cress in class – if you have any yoghurt pots at home could you please wash them and remove any labels on them and send them in to school with your child please? Thank you!
