Week beginning 26.10

This has been a week filled with Halloween fun throughout. We started off with creating acrostic Halloween poems which the pupils worked really hard on by adding lots of spooky describing words . We then had lots of fun reading our Halloween book and using that to create another piece of writing.

Towards the end of the week the pupils also created their own piece of Halloween art. They all worked really hard to create their folding pumpkin.

week beginning 19/10

This week has been a great week back for primary 3b! We started off with some outdoor learning incorporating the maths the pupils have been learning into a fun game called ‘What’s the place value’

The pupils then had a lot of fun in science with Mrs Reid. They made paper planes and even got to have a go at making them fly.

This week the pupils have also had their online music class. The focus of this was on rhythm and keeping the beat.

Towards the end of the week the pupils created cards with their own prayer of thanks to Mary which they all decorated and then placed on our alter in class.

Week beginning 05/10

Primary 3b have had another excellent week of learning this week.  The pupils are really working hard especially in literacy and numeracy and are really starting to apply a growth mindset to their learning.

We are finishing of our fitness block in PE and the pupils have been working hard on improving cardiovascular fitness and working on different anaerobic exercises through fun circuits and some relay races.

Since it’s the month of October we have been celebrating Mary. The pupils put together a jigsaw puzzle to help them remember the Hail Mary prayer .

Finally a big well done to the pupils who won an award this week 🙂

Maths week 2020

This week primary 3 have been having lots of fun with maths activities both indoors and outdoors for maths week!  We started the week with some problem solving games and activities.

We have also been doing lots of outdoor learning. Using chalk we worked on our strategies and problem solving skills playing knots and crosses.

Next we had a look at measure and went outside with the metre sticks to see what we could find that was 1 metre long or high. The pupils also expanded their learning by estimating how many metres things were with their knowledge of 1 metre and then used the metre sticks to check their estimations.

We have had a great week so far and are looking forward to continuing with more outdoor learning tomorrow!
