Outdoor learning

P5b’s challenge for outdoor learning today was to create a waterproof shelter.

teamwork, problem solving and communication skills were needed for this task and some teams had to completely rebuild their den due to the wind!

In the end each team successfully managed to create a waterproof shelter (this was tested by pouring some water from a jug over each den) 👏.

Solo Talks Continued

Every child in the class has completed their Egyptians solo talk, they were all of a very high standard. The  pupils loved listening to each others presentations and having the opportunity to ask and answer questions at the end 😄.

A fantastic effort from all pupils and a huge well done for having the confidence to present in front of their class mates 👏. So proud of each and every pupil 🌟.

Pond Dipping

An amazing afternoon pond dipping. We worked in groups to catch the pond life and then tried hard to identify the species based on the features of the creature.

Egyptians Solo Talks

We have had the pleasure of listening to each others presentations about the Egyptians over the last few days, we still have many to listen to throughout the week.

A fantastic effort so far with children sharing their learning about an area of interest, lots of amazing props and great, detailed presentations, super proud ✨

Maths Week

  1.

Taking part in a maths week Scotland challenge to build the tallest tower using spaghetti and marshmallows.

Well done to Libby, Liam, Benjamin and Jamie for successfully making the tallest free standing tower 👏.

Afterwards we used to marshmallows and spaghetti to make models of 3d objects, this helped us to identify how many vertices and edges each shape had.
