Homework wb 25/03/19

This week we will have our last non fiction reading books before going back to our reading markers. Books this week are:

Sunshine group – Let’s go to the park

Snowflake group – I can help

Rainbow group – Make a monster

There are also games available on Education City this week for each group that reflect our maths and numeracy work for the week.

Whole school homework this week is reading challenges for the First Minister’s Reading Challenge.

This is an embedded Microsoft Office document, powered by Office Online.

There will also be paper copies in homework folders.

Happy homeworking!

Our number work continues!

P1b have been continuing to develop their skills in number this morning! The Strawberries have been applying their knowledge in numbers to 100 in different contexts in building numbers using concrete materials this morning and continuing to practice creating their own 100 squares. Through doing this we have been noticing patterns in the numbers!

The Pears and Apples have been continuing to work on identifying missing numbers and today completed 5 calculations independently! Unfortunately we didn’t manage to get any more pictures of them because they were doing so much jumping on the number line that they were all blurry!!! They have also been challenging themselves to create 100 squares too! Well done!

Numbertime!

P1b have been working really hard on their number work this week. The Pears and Apples have been using a giant number line to find missing numbers in a calculation…

The Strawberries have been working really hard on their numbers to 100 and have been filling in 100 squares independently! Well done!

World Storytelling Day!

Primary 1b have been celebrating World Storytelling Day! We had some lovely Primary 7 visitors who came to read us some of the stories that they have been writing in class

We have also been using our storytelling basket today and we have created some fantastic stories which we will be turning in to books! Well done Primary 1!

Homework wb 18/03/19

This week we will be continuing with our work on fiction and non fiction texts. Again, the non fiction reading books that your child will bring home this week do not feature in the reading markers so your child will not have this home with them. Reading books this week are:

Sunshine group – Wild Rides

Snowflake group – Going Camping

Rainbow group – Is Teddy Too Big?

Whole school homework this week is around Modern Foreign Languages. Primary 1b have been learning about French colours and have a rainbow sheet in their homework folder. Please can you support them to have a go at the vocabulary and colour in the rainbow using the appropriate colours 🙂

AFC visit

The children in P1b had a wonderful afternoon last Friday down at Arthurlie Family Centre! We took our presentations and stories down to share with the children and we had so much fun telling them all about our favourite animals. Well done Primary 1! Big thank you to Ruan’s mum and Mrs Kelly for helping us walk down 🙂

This week please also check your child’s homework folder for the Successes and Achievements whole school homework sheet which focuses on achievements outside of school.

We are glad to announce that the East Renfrewshire Sumdog contest is back this week!

Please use the log in from your child’s jotter on the following website to get started 🙂

Parent helpers

P1b are looking for a parent helper to walk down to Arthurlie Family Centre with us on Friday afternoon where we will be sharing some of the facts we have been learning about our favourite animals and telling stories about them. If you are available to help please can you contact the school office to let them know 🙂

Thank you!
