Merry Christmas from P5b 🎄

I hope that everyone has a fantastic Christmas and a happy new year 🥳 see you all in January ❤️🎄🎅xx

Christmas fun

A little update to share some of the final week of school activities before the Christmas holidays 🎅.

Lena and Hannah worked hard to create a canvas with lots of interesting Egyptian facts, well done girls, I’m glad to see the Egyptians topic still of interest to you both now that we are finished with it 👏.

We made Christmas decorations with tables facts on them to help us remember our time stables 😊.

We watched a draw along tutorial about how to draw the grinches hand and then coloured it and added our own special effects 🌲.

Lego Challenge

Today we took part in a Lego challenge where we had to work in teams to construct a 10cm high bridge to transport 2 toy cars to get around the river. It was really tricky and involved communication skills, problem solving and creativity.

4 teams successfully completed the mission in the time frame of 1 hour. Lots of perseverance was needed for this challenge and all of the teams did a wonderful job ⭐️.

Cosy Christmas Read

We enjoyed our cosy Christmas read along this afternoon 😊.

We played book bingo and listened to the first few pages of a mystery wrapped book. The challenge was then to design a front cover for the book based on the information we had heard. So many amazing front covers were created with all the key information 📚.

Ficshy Music Workshop

P5 had such an amazing time at the Ficshy Music concert on Tuesday, here are some pictures and videos of some of the singing and dancing 💃.

Library Visit

P5b had a visit to the Foundry this afternoon. The children loved having a look at the fiction and non-fiction books on offer and then got to pick one to borrow 📚.

The Story of Moses

In RE we have been learning the story of Moses. Some of our pupils created a drama piece to perform for the rest of the class on Monday afternoon which tells the key events from the story of Moses. Well done boys and girls 👏.

Mini Robots

The digital leaders were leading workshops this morning for pupils demonstrating different forms of robots and coding.

Well done to Chloe and Joshua for being excellent leaders and supporting during this event.

P5b loved having fun with all of the different robots and trying different things to code.

Book Week Scotland

for book week Scotland this afternoon instead of everyone reading in class, everyone was reading OUTSIDE.

We brought our books out with us this afternoon and made reading dens.

Book Week Scotland

As part of Book Week Scotland P5b brought in their favourite books from home and enjoyed some time to read in class this afternoon 📚.

A task was set for children to design an alternative book front cover for their favourite books. The children then got into groups and chatted to each other about their favourite books and share their new designs.
