Creating our own app!

This week, P4a were challenged with creating their own app. Working solo, in pairs, or groups of three, the children used their creativity to design fun, exciting, and sometimes educational, apps.

The pupils entries will be submitted to a competition by Make it Happen in which winners will have their app created for real by experts. What an exciting opportunity!

We all have our fingers crossed!

Gymnastics

It’s gymnastics block in P.E. and P4a are thoroughly enjoying the lessons so far.  We’ve discussed the importance of tension and balance within gymnastics and have been developing our skills in these areas through forward rolls, shape holding and balancing stances such as the shoulder stand.

Artist Study

We have been learning about artist, Max Bill, and studying his choice of line and colour. After discussing primary and secondary colours and the effectiveness of his colour choice, the pupils recreated one of his famous designs. The finished work is now brightening up the walls of our classroom!

Carnival of the Animals

Primary 4 started their listening lessons in Music with Mrs Carey today! They very much enjoyed listening to The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saens.  They spotted instruments and decided on the mood of the music.

The class found the lion loud, pouncing, scary, nervous and happy.

We had a particularly special treat when Mrs Carey played the violin!
