Primary 1 Induction Information

 

Our first induction meeting for the parents/carers of Maidenhill’s new Primary 1 pupils took place on Wednesday 29th May.  Below is a link to the Parent Information Booklet which was given to all parents/carers and discussed by Mr McDonald.  The booklet outlines a lot of useful information and also contains links to helpful pages on the East Renfrewshire Council website.

Induction and Transition Meetings

Please see below for details of meetings taking place as part of the induction/transition process for pupils starting Maidenhill Primary School and Nursery in August 2019.

NURSERY

Nursery Information Session on Tuesday June 4th from 5-6pm in Fairweather Hall, Newton Mearns.

This session is designed to allow parents/ carers an opportunity to meet our team and become familiar with our plans for policies, routines and curriculum. It’s also a great opportunity to meet other parents. Your child will have the chance to meet the other children that will be joining them at Maidenhill Nursery.

PRIMARY 1

Day One- Wednesday 29th May from 5-6 pm at Fairweather Hall, Newton Mearns

This session is designed for parents/ carers only and is an opportunity to get to know key team members, procedures and arrangements as well as a chance to meet other parents.

Day Two- Wednesday 5th June from 4.30- 5.30 pm at Fairweather Hall, Newton Mearns

This session is for parents/ carers and their child. Parents will have a further opportunity to find out about plans for the school while their child spends time meeting key staff members.

WHOLE SCHOOL AND NURSERY

Staff Appointments

Congratulations to Miss Alison Shaw and Mrs Annie Fraser who were both successful at interview this week and are joining the Maidenhill staff team. Miss Shaw will join us as Depute Head Teacher and Mrs Fraser will be our Senior Business Support Assistant. Both will be pivotal roles within our new Leadership Team and we wish Miss Shaw and Mrs Fraser all the best.

After a lot of work by the pupils of Mearns and Kirkhill Primaries, Mr McDonald and the Lord Lyon, we can finally reveal the designs for Maidenhill’s school badge and tie.

We are very pleased with the choices and we are sure that they will make all Maidenhill pupils look very smart.
