Going on the school grounds maintaining the trees and putting the canes and plastic casings back on trees. Split into two groups, One group doing the muga and one group doing the banking. On the banking there weren’t enough canes for the trees so we looked for them.

Today in the groundskeeper’s pupil group, half of us went around the classrooms and the other half were making posters to spread awareness of our new trees.

We would kindly ask people to stop pulling the canes out and please stop snapping them as the trees  can’t grow properly without these bamboo canes. We would like to ask you if you see a broken cane, if you could ask for adult help to put it back?

Today in the Groundskeeping group we planted trees on the banking. We planted them on the sides of the banking. Everyone put in lots of effort!
We made sure we spaced out each tree so that they all had enough room to grow. The metre sticks proved to be very useful!
To plant the trees we needed to make a small hole in the ground and then we planted the tree inside the ground and a long wooden pole for the tree to grow around. We then put a plastic casing around them to protect the small saplings (baby trees).
We also made sure that the trees that were already planted were still standing.
Everyone definitely had a lot of fun!

Today we planted seeds like sugar snaps , coriander, parsley, basil and chives. We think everyone had good fun! These will go in the staff greenhouse to grow. During the warmer seasons, the plants will be moved to the science garden.

We are making an Article that will go to parents and the article is going to be about us spreading awareness about litter picking.

We were talking about items that have been left like milk,jumpers and lunch boxes.

Attached is our rota.  We will help to keep our playgrounds tidy after we have eaten our lunch.

School Grounds Litter Picking Rota

First we created partners for a litter picking rota,for lunchtime.

Then we decided we would create some posters to raise awareness for picking up litter,and everyone has done a fantastic job so far!
