Home Learning Monday 30th March 2020

Hi P5!

We hope you all had a lovely weekend.  This week you will find all your learning on this blog.  You will also be able to submit some of your work onto Seesaw for us to see what you have been learning about so please log on there also.

If you can not get access to Seesaw or Education City, please get in touch with the school at St Clares who will forward you your log in details.

Have a great day!

Love Mrs McArthur, Miss McLeod and Mr Russell.

Home Learning Day – Wednesday 25th March

Happy Wednesday everyone,

For learning for the rest of the week please see P5c Blog- this saves all 3 classes posting the same message.

All work will also be on P5a seesaw for me to look at 🙂

Have a good day, enjoy your time with your family and stay in contact with your friends, if you haven’t heard from a friend in a few days – ask if you can give them a call or text 🙂

Tuesday 24th March P5 work

Hi everyone,

I hope you are all  keeping well?!

The work that you will receive will sometimes be set by myself, but it may also be set by one of the other P5 teachers.  All of P5 will receive the same daily activities so quite often this will just be revision.

Yesterday was our first day of working from home and lots of you have managed to send me a message on Seesaw with work that you have completed.   I have been very impressed by what you have all done so far but please remember this work is for you to work through or not work through!

You may find that someone at home has life skills they want you to complete instead of the work on our blog and that’s great because that is learning too!

I would much rather be speaking to you all in class but for just now we just need to try our best with this. I hope all of you enjoy learning in a different way for the next few weeks and hopefully I will see you all soon back in class.

Take care

Mrs McArthur 🙂

Home Learning Information

From today, home learning activities will be assigned daily via Seesaw and this class blog.

This will consist of Numeracy, Literacy and one ‘other’ task e.g. HWB, RME, Social Studies, Expressive Arts, Technology or Science activity.

Your weekly spelling rule will be revision from a previous week.

Please feel under no obligation to complete this work.  It is there for you to complete as much or as little as you choose and ultimately, your health and wellbeing is the most important thing!

As well as academic learning I appreciate the importance of daily physical activity. Each day, you may like to participate in Joe Wicks or the Super Movers live PE lessons from 9am.  There are also lots of other lessons, so feel free to enjoy some active learning at other times during the day too. These can be found by following the links below–

If you wish to upload any of the homework activities for me to see on Seesaw, then that would be great! The settings have been altered so that only teachers can see your work and responses.

I look forward to welcoming you back to Kirkhill with open arms, but until then, stay safe, stay happy and keep well!

Dogs Trust Visit

Gemma from the Dogs Trust visited our classroom today. We learned some very interesting information….

Hazel- You are not supposed to give your dog human food.

Alex – If you give a dog something that it’s not supposed to have, it will get use to it.

Joseph – Dogs like Jack Russells are terriers and need two one hour walks a day.

Adam – Onions and garlic are toxic for dogs.

Aminah – Some dogs may need more exercise than other dogs.

Harum – When taking your dog for a walk you should let it sniff and not keep pulling it.
