A Busy Week in P4/5 21/01/22

We have been learning about Space. In Art we painted a space background and then we drew our star sign constellations. They look amazing!

As part of our space topic we created posters all about somebody that was important to space. Some of our posters were about Neil Armstrong, Valentina Tereshkova and Laika the Dog. Neil Armstrong was the first man on the moon. Laika was the first dog to orbit the Earth!

In PE we have been learning Scottish ceilidh dances. We are great at the Canadian Barn Dance, Dashing White Sergeant and the Military Two Step. We also started to learn the Gay Gordons this week. It is a lot of fun! We have also been learning badminton. We were trying to increase our accuracy when hitting the shuttlecock to our partner. We were also trying to have a rally with each other. In the MUGA we were playing five bat cricket. We had to try and hit the ball as far as we could so that we could pass the bats on to our team. It was tiring and fun!

In Spanish, P5 have been learning how to say different sports and have been learning how to say and write sports that they like, love and don’t like. ‘Me encanta’ means ‘I love’, ‘me gusto’ means ‘I like’ and ‘no me gusto’ means ‘ I don’t like’.

In French we were learning number to 100 and we were adding numbers. It was tricky!

During numeracy we have been learning about weight. We have been learning to convert kg and g. We have also been playing countdown – we were given certain numbers and had to make a target number. It was a lot of fun!
