Lots of great activities planned over the next 2 weeks. Thanks to Mrs O’Connor, Miss Scott and Mr Cook for organising the timetables. They have been very busy!
The ‘living eggs’ project has arrived in the nursery. The hatchery is a 10 day experience of looking after the eggs and chicks when they hatch.
Not only do the children experience life cycles and growth and development, the programme encourages social interaction and promotes caring and nurturing skills.

On Monday Healthy Choices Fortnight will start in Mearns Primary.
Many thanks to Mrs O’Connor and Mr Cook, Senior Active School Co-ordinator, for organising events for every stage.

We are looking for your help on to clean up our school grounds and garden. We will have a litter pick . Tidy up of the school garden and plant some seeds.

The Eco Committee will be hosting a One Planet Picnic on Thursday 3rd April 2014.
You will be able to buy some oat treats from our stall. Oats are produced in Scotland and healthy. We describe them as being a sustainable product, supporting sustainable development!
On Monday 10 March, three children from Primary 5 travelled to Paisley to take part in the 2014 Regional Primary Schools Competition run by the Renfrewshire Association of Burns Clubs (RIABC). They all sang really well and Myles was presented with a medal after being placed second in the Primary 4 and 5 singing category for his rendition of Ye Jacobites by Name. Megan was Highly Commended in the same section she and Hannah received certificates for their performances.
Thanks to Mrs Shand for taking the children to the competition.
Mr Tyler is the Science Teacher of the Year.
His achievement was recognised at a special award ceremony this morning.
