Red Nose Week

From Monday 14th to Friday 18th March 2022, we will be taking part in Red Nose Week. Any donation that you can make will be greatly received. We will have a bucket out each day to collect any donations.

We will be using Red Nose Day as a learning opportunity to explore the issues facing young people across the world, and how the money we raise can help. We will also be celebrating the Holi festival – Festival of colour on Friday 18th March. If your child is able to wear something colourful within the week, that would be great. We will be organising many different experiences to bring awareness of Global Citizenship. The children have started to learn about “Being Me” through the Love Monster character, which can be found on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pkeno7aVGVI

Rights Respecting School Award (RRSA)

Dear parent/carer,

Please help me to learn about my right to Life, Survival and Development. (Article 6) of United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC)

We strive to give our children the best and always ensure that each child’s needs are at the centre of how we think about and plan for their unique development. With this in mind, we are taking the first steps of applying for a Bronze award in order to become a Rights Respecting School. (RRSA) This involves a whole school approach in educating our children and families what their rights are. To begin this process, we would appreciate if you could support your child to plant the daffodil bulb. When doing so, we ask that you discuss how to nurture and care for living things by giving food and water etc. and how you have the right to “Life, Survival, and Development. (Article 6) This will hopefully ensure your child understands they have the right to be cared for and nurtured in order to flourish and become a unique individual. Over time, we will be carrying out various activities in order to introduce different rights within the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC). More information will follow. Thank you for your involvement.
