Staying Safe in the Sun
 Without adequate protection, a child’s delicate skin can burn
within minutes, causing irreparable damage – Children are at risk of sunburn within 10-15 minutes of being exposed to strong sunlight.  This can significantly increase their risk of developing skin cancer in later life.
 McCready Family Centre is a ‘Safe Sun Nursery’.   Please ensure your child has: 

  • A sun hat that protects the head and shades the face, neck and ears
  • A sun cream (Sun Protection Factor of 30+)
  • Suitable clothing: T-Shirts covering shoulders, (preferably long sleeved cotton tops which can be kept in their shoe bag).
