The Word on the Street is Wear Jeans on Friday 20th September and help support a great cause to help change lives.
At Isobel Mair School we are joining the Family Centre to celebrate this great cause and ask every pupil and staff member to make a donation and pay £1 to wear jeans for the day.
Pupils will be involved in class activities throughout the day to help raise awareness and how to support this event.
The 2013 Shoe Box Appeal is well underway and Isobel Mair School are helping to support this.
You can help us by supporting your child/young person to fill a box with specific items. We are collecting boxes which will help support boys and girls.
This year boxes will be sent to Albania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Kosovo, Moldova, Pakistan, Romania, Serbia and Ukraine and help to bring some joy and laughter to young people at Christmas.

Wednesday 11th September pupils from classes Tiree & Whalsay are attending the annual Variety Scotland outing to M&Ds.
This is a great day for the pupils to have fun, meeting others and getting the chance to use all the rides and activities at the park.
School uniform to be worn for this event.
Lets hope the sun is shining for a fun day away!
Today, during mAIRwavesFM classes Tiree and Whalsay had a collborative discussion on what today’s topic was going to be.
After a great discussion they came up with some great ideas but decided that this weeks topic was going to be “what do you like to do at home” a fantastic lesson developing thinking, listening and literacy skills.
mAIRwaves FM have posted a new recording.
This recording took place at the assembly on Friday 6th September 2013.
Listen to our live news bulletin as the Head Boy/Girl, School Captain and Prefects are announced by Mrs Wallace the Head Teacher.
Plase note that due to low numbers the Parent Council Ceilidh has had to be canecelled.
This afternoon we held a very important assembly to present badges to our newly elected Head Boy, Head Girl, School Captain and Prefect.
This was a very special occasion and they were delighted to be elected by all their friends. This year our members are:
Prefect Kainet Hanif
School Captain Cassie Maher
Head Girl Chloe Taylor
Head Boy Joe Cates
During assemby they had to repeat the school pledge before they were awarded their badges, a very proud moment for them all.
mAIRwavesFM recorded the event live and a special recording will be available next week.
We wish them well with their duties around the school.
We would also like to say congratulations to some of the elected members from classes Shetland and Yell who had a vote today to elect members onto the Student Council.
They have all selected jobs which they will be responsible for and are busy organising future events, watch this space!
Please support the Parent Council who are holding a Ceilidh on Friday 7th September at GHA RugbyClub, Giffnock.
This event is to help raise funds for the school and family centre.
Tickets are still available for this event priced at £10 each.
However as numbers are low the evening might have to be cancelled.
PLEASE SUPPORT THE PARENT COUNCIL
During todays recording of mAIRwaves classes Tiree and Whalsay discussed things they would like to learn at school this year.
They had a discussion about they wanted to learn in maths and english and then recorded their answers on a document which will be saved as evidence.
At the end of the school year the pupils will evaluate how successful they have been in their target setting.
Everyone worked so hard during the lesson and were proud of their achievements.
Please join us for our monthly Coffee and Chat sessions.
Our first session this term will take place on Thursday 7th September at 10am. All welcome.
These are informal chats to allow parents/carers to come together to share ideas and offer advice and support to each other.
School staff and other specialist staff normally attend to offer advice and support families at home to support our young people.
mAIRwavesFm have posted a new recording.
This week they discussed what they all got up to at the weekend and left a very special message for one of their friends.
