Last night a special event took place at Glasgow City Chambers. Several schools from local authorities represented their schools at the Holocaust Memorial Day in the presence of Deputy First Minister Nicola Sturgeon.
Our Reels on Wheels, Scottish Country Dance group were invited to perfrom at this special event.
So late last night a group of pupils and staff from classes Arran, Cumbrae and Sanda performed two dances, the Circassian Circle and Flowers of Edinburgh and they all rose to the occasion absorbing the atmosmphere and enjoying the performances.
This was a great achievement for our pupils and they all made us so proud.
Well done everyone.

Parent Council Meeting will take place this evening at 7pm.
Class Tiree are hosting this weeks assembly on Friday.
The class have decided to take part in the Mary’s Meals project which helps provide daily life changing meals for over 600,000 hungry children.
At the assembly on Friday, Class Tiree have arranged for a Mary’s Meal speaker to come and share with us all about the project and how we as a school we can help.
We look forward to sharing this information with you at a later date.

In this broadcast Alex interviews his friends and asks what they got up to over the Christmas holidays.
Parents’ Evening will take place tonight in main campus and at Yell @ WWHS for our post 16 pupils.
Appointments will have been sent out via the class teacher.
Mrs Goodlad will be available in the foyer this evening for Health and Wellbeing discussions.

Congratulations to all of the pupils involved in the West of Scotland Sports Organisation Swimming Gala which took place today at the Sir Matt Busby pool in Bellshill.
We had some very confident swimmers with personal best times being achieved and a few 1st and 2nd places in individual races.
Medals and achievement ribbons were presented to all the swimmers by Mr McGauley at our assembly this afternoon.

Good luck to pupils from St Lukes’ High school who are performing for our pupils this afternoon.
The focus is a drama performance on the theme of anti bullying.
Senior pupils from Shetland and Orkney classes were highly motivated during the taster judo session as part of the anti bullying focus week at IMS.
They were highly disciplined, attending and following instructions from the instructor throughout the session.
This taster session allowed the pupils to experience a positive outlet for physical energy and competitive spirit, highlighting team work and friendships.
This week we have an anti bullying focus at school.
Various activities are taking place including both within the classes and with external visitors.
We have a Judo taster session, a performance from the pupils of St Luke’s High School and internal pesentations between classes in the form of drama, art, songs and poems.
On Friday everyone will come together for an anti bullying assembly.
Today we had a visit from staff and pupils from Belmont House School who came to deliver selection boxes for all our pupils.
Lots of excited children and we say a big Thank You to all the pupils from Belmont House for their kind donations.

Thank you to everyone who came to support our Christmas Service today, “The Magical Christmas Jigsaw”.
I’m sure you will agree that the pupils were amazing and all so confident with their parts.
After all the rehearsals with Mr Hay and class teachers, everything went well on the day. Pupils were even practising their lines at home as they wanted to make sure it was perfect.
