Spring Break
Easter Holidays
School will close at 2:30 on Friday 4th April for Spring break and reopens on Tuesday 22nd April.
Extended school day will not take place on Friday 4th April.

Fashion Show
Fashion Show
Preparations are well under way for the fashion show taking place this evening organised by the pupils from classes Yell and Shetland.
Both classes have been busy working and organising their premier couture fashion show.
As well as modelling the clothes on the night, the students have been involved in the process of designing and making couture fashion items.
Tote bags designed by the pupils will also be on sale on the night.
So please come along and support the pupil council who are rasing funds to buy a pottery wheel and kiln for the school.

Sport Relief 2014
Get Fit with Sport Relief
As part of Sport Relief 2014 we are having the Special Olympics themed in a Sports Relief style.
Activities are well underway at IMS with the assistance of our Active Sports Coaches.
Lots of fun activites, including the sport relief dance, athletic stations, Akka races, outdoor trails and cycle rides.

Sport Relief @ IMS
This year at Isobel Mair School we are celebrating with a SPORT RELIEF ASSEMBLY on: Friday 21st March 2014 at 2pm
Please come along and see all the sporty things we’ve been doing, watch our sporty video challenge, join in a sport dance and help raise some money.
We also have some Sport Relief wristbands for sale at £1 if you would like to buy some.

“Time to Shine”
Tonights performance of “Time to Shine” with the Community Unity schools will take place in Newton Mearns Baptist Church at 7pm.
Pupils from classes Whalsay, Tiree and Jura have been rehearsing really hard with the P7 pupils from St Cadoc’s and Crookfur primaries. Everyone looking forward to the actual performance….
Pace “Time to Shine”
Community Unity
This morning classes Tiree and Whalsay welcome P7 pupils from St Cadoc’s and Crookfur primary schools for a morning rehearsal of the Community Unity perfromance “Time to Shine”.
We are glad the sun is shining as we will have 150 pupils for lunch and then outside to play in our amazing outdoor area!
This afternoon we are heading over to Newton Mearns Baptist Church for another rehearsal as the big performance is Wednesday evening.
World Book Day
World Book Day Celebrations
Our World Book Day Celebrations begin on Thursday 6th March where all the classes are working together on a particular book theme, i.e Lighthouse Keeper’s Lunch, the Tiger Who Came to Tea and Alice in Wonderland.
Classes will be performing either a dramatisation, poems, interactive lessons or songs from the stories and finishing off with a tea party in each of the lochs.
On Friday 6th March all pupils are encouraged to bring £1 and dress up as a favourite story character. Our day wil be finished off with a whole school assembly.
I wonder what character Mrs Wallace will be this year!
Floatsation Training
IMS Staff are looking forward to having Floatsation Training today.
Floatsation aids allow swimmers with Special needs to be independent and more confident in the water active learning curve towards becoming an independent swimmer.Floatsation can enable everyone to have fun in the water in a safe and confident way. It enables users to have fun while still allowing them to develop:
The effectiveness of each buoyancy aid keeping the swimmer in the water instead of above the water helps to boost essential water confidence.
