Without adequate protection, a child’s delicate skin can burn
within minutes, causing irreparable damage – Children are at risk of sunburn within 10-15 minutes of being exposed to strong sunlight. This can significantly increase their risk of developing skin cancer in later life.
Please ensure your child has:
- Sunscreen applied before they come to nursery.
- A sun hat that protects the head and shades the face, neck and ears.
- A sun cream (Sun Protection Factor of 30+) in their bag or left at nursery with their name on the bottle.
- Suitable clothing: T-Shirts covering shoulders, (preferably long sleeved, light cotton tops which can be kept in their bag).
