Partner Balances

Primary 4 started gymnastics in PE today.  They worked on their balancing skills .

They worked closely with a partner to replicate the balance shown on the card. The used their communication and listening skills to keep each other feeling confident and safe.  Well doe boys and girls!

Anti-Bullying

Cross Arthurlie is committed to creating a safe and secure environment where bullying is discussed and challenged.

We  adopt a wide range of strategies to prevent and respond to incidents of bullying, putting a high degree of importance on developing positive relationships.

We create inclusive ethos and culture and find this is the most effective way of reducing and responding to incidents of bullying.

Our Anti-Bullying Policy and daily practice reflect an ambition to ensure a strong ethos of fairness, equality and respect.

COMPETITION!

We have been working on a new set of values for the school and are now looking for someone really creative to help us re-brand Cross Arthurlie Primary School and Nursery Class. We will be keeping both the school and nursery badges but we are looking for a visual that could be used as a backdrop for posters, used on newsletters and on the school website which would represent our new vision of:

“A caring community of learners”

The values we hold:

  • Kindness
  • Respect
  • Confidence

Together we will develop a curriculum where the journey of learning is a priority. We will build friendships and confidence looking out for each other as we live life now and prepare for our future.

Wet Weather

We know that it is really important for child’s physical and mental health to be outdoors, particularly at this time. Unfortunately this may mean that they are out in inclement weather. Children are reminded to put jackets on and hoods up by all staff and some parents have provided waterproofs which children are reminded to wear. If you are concerned that your child may have wet socks/ tights etc please pop a fresh pair in their school bags, let your child know that they are there and staff will give time for children to change into dry clothing.

Support for parents

The Educational Psychology Service is delivering three online one-hour parents’ sessions in March (see attachment for details). The aim of these will be to explore how Covid has affected how children and young people think, feel and behave, and to discuss ways in which parents can support their child through the current challenges. The sessions will refer to our Healthier minds website and resources (https://blogs.glowscotland.org.uk/er/healthierminds) and will involve input from partners across East Renfrewshire who support children and young people’s mental wellbeing.
