View our ECO CODE here. The code was created by all classes and the Eco Committee.

We have created an ECO BLOG to record our progress and to reflect how Eco Schools is changing and becoming more interactive.

Our latest NEWSLETTER can be found on Sway. We find that viewing our newsletter online is a much more eco-friendly way of sharing information.

CURRENT ACTION

Biodiversity

This year, our Eco Committee felt that we had to focus on improving the biodiversity in our school grounds. Previously, when learning outdoors pupils had found that there wasn’t a great deal of variety in the animals, birds and insects found in the playground. We aim to study the animals that are present in our school grounds and research ways we can encourage more animals to come into our playground so that we can learn alongside them!

Energy

We have elected energy savers in each class to try and reduce the amount of energy being used in the school. The Eco Committee are going to to further inform the school about the importance of reducing our carbon footprint. They have held assemblies to explain the threat of global warming. The Eco Committee are currently designing a whole school competition to encourage all classes to reduce the amount of energy they are using.

Litter

We think Litter is an important area to continue to focus on because we have an open playground so we have to work extra hard to encourage people to keep it clean! The Eco Committee have previously installed new bins to encourage people to place their litter in the bin. We aim to organise community litter picking days and Litter-free weeks. We would also like to raise an awareness of the importance of keeping the playground tidy!
