House Challenge

Promoting a positive ethos is very important in Cross Arthurlie Primary School.  The principle of the House System is that children are rewarded for positive attitudes and contributions to school life, and earn points for their House.

We have 4 houses, each named after Barrhead landmarks or areas:  Gleniffer (green); Shanks (red); Craigie (yellow) and Levern (blue).  Each pupil, and member of staff are allocated a House with all siblings members of the same House.  Pupils remain in their House throughout their time at Cross Arthurlie Primary School.

Children can earn House Points in a variety of ways and, on a weekly basis, House Points are totalled and reported to the children at assembly.  In addition to this, there are termly House prizes and the House Cup will be awarded on an annual basis.

The House System creates a greater sense of responsibility amongst our pupils to both their House and their school.  This in turn, creates a more positive ethos within Cross Arthurlie Primary School.
