All parents and carers are invited to attend the AM of the Parent Council on Monday 11th September, 6.30pm, Williamwood High School.

The Parent Council is looking for parents old and new to join them but if you would prefer to come along to meet everyone, and hear about what we do, you will be made very welcome.
All parents are invited to our “Meet the Staff” evening on Wednesday 6th August, at 6.30pm when Mr Weir will give a short presentation on our school targets for this year. Following this there will be a choice of two sessions, 7.00-7.30pm and 7.30-8.00pm in your child’s classroom.
This will be an opportunity to informally meet with your child’s class teacher to find out about class routines and the exciting learning experiences that are planned. This event is aimed at parents only so we would ask that children remain at home on this occasion.
There will be a Leadership Assembly on Friday 1st September at 1.45pm at Busby Parish Church. Parents of pupils receiving Leadership awards will be invited in due course.
We have arranged for the school photographer to come to the school on Friday 25th August from 9.00am, pupils should wear full school uniform.
They will take class groups, family groups and individual photographs. You are under no obligation to buy the photographs.
After their success at the Williamwood Cluster tournament on Friday, the Busby team of Rory, Hamish, Sarah and Eilidh took part in the East Renfrewshire finals at Giffnock Tennis Club on Thursday 18th May. The team played magnificently and won the tournament, finsihing with a very impressive 225 points! They will now take part in the West Region Primary Schools Finals at Scoutston Community Indoor Tennis Centre on Sunday 4th June.
Well done – we are all so proud of you!
Well done to Sarah, Eilidh, Rory and Hamish who represented Busby at the Williamwood Cluster P4 tennis event on Friday 5th May. The team won through to the East Renfrewshire finals, to be played at Giffnock Tennis Club on Thursday morning. Congratulations and good luck for Thursday!

The charge for pupils in P4-P7 will be £2.00 for the buffet lunch. If your child would like to have a school lunch that day, please ensure they have enough money on their account. Pupils in P1-P3 are entitled to a free lunch under the Scottish Government initiative.
Thank you to all parents and friends who attended the First Level Skills Academy “Mad Hatters Tea Party”. Well done to the pupils in Miss Deas and Miss Harris’ groups for providing the catering and entertainment.
The Parent Council invites all parents to attend a fundraising night at the Masonic Hall on Friday 21st April. Tickets for the evening are £10 each and the price includes a buffet and entertainment. You can buy tickets from Ane Cushley, Elena Gentile, Clair McGinlay or Catherine Thosmon. Tickets will also be available at the door.
Everyone enjoyed Primary 6’s wonderful ‘Happiness’ assembly this morning at the church.

The school is now closed for the spring holiday and will re-open on Tuesday 18th April at 9am.
