P7.26 participated in a Scottish art lesson this afternoon, inspired by Steven Brown. The children worked in pairs to paint their own tartan and used oil pastels to create a McCoo to go on top. I canβt wait to see these finished and displayed outside out classroom!
Hausa, Dishti, Aaminah, Evan, Lyle, Finlay and Freddie are all participating in the UKMT Challenge today, representing their class and school. Good luck boys and girls!
Mearns Masters started back this week and this block will be all about CODING!
The children will be coding their very own adventure game wi5 at least 3 levels, a visible score, sound effects and the items and characters changing appearance.
In session one, we started to plan our games in our BGE jotters.
P7.26 have started their new book study, Divided City. One of our first tasks involved creating our own dictionary using the words from chapters 1 and 2, to ensure full understanding of the text π.
The house captains met today to sort through the huge amount of kindness mail received for our Christmas House Challenge. Unfortunately, due to the COVID restrictions, these will be posted this year. The captains will collect the remainder of submissions tomorrow morning, before sending to their chosen care homes.
We spent this afternoon creating our very own Christmas tree decorations using twigs. The children had the opportunity to use the glue guns for the first time, which they really enjoyed! Other activities included creating paper chains, snowflakes and decorating the class Christmas tree π.
Primary 7.26 have concluded their Campaigners Mearns Masters by sending persuasive formal letters to Boris Johnston, Nicola Sturgeon, Jackson Carlaw and CBBC Newsround. The children want to see their fantastic ideas from our Designers pathway come to life. This includes solar panel cycle lanes, compulsory grass roofs on all new developments, solar filtration systems, sustainable sports stadiums and much, much more!
