The children have been working hard to develop their vocabulary during spooky writing lessons. Today, they presented their stories to the rest of the class.

This week, the children have been presenting their amazing WWII solo talks. Each child has further researched an aspect of the war which they find interesting. So far we have had brilliant presentations about Aircraft, Kindertransport, Adolf Hilter, The Holocaust and many, many more. I look forward to hearing and providing feedback for the other children in the class early next week. 🌟🌟🌟

The children have been finalising their K’nex structures, ready to create these after the October break. Well done, P7.26! 🌟

The children have been using K’nex to build their structures and experimenting with different resources such as clay and balsa wood.

The children have been presenting their initial ideas and pitching for the resources they would like to use. These ideas will now be evaluated and reviewed.

Today we were joined by Mr Derek Hill, who is the course director of Architectural Studies at Strathclyde University. Mr Hill joined us to launch our new Mearns Masters programme – The Designers. This session started with a PowerPoint all about Architect. We then focussed on our drawing techniques with various fun drawing tasks. This included us drawing with two pens and with our eyes closed. We finished today’s session by starting our very own ‘Invisible Cities’ pictures, inspired by our class book. I have attached some pictures below 🌟🌟.

Our Google Classroom Charters have been completed digitally this year and are now up in our classroom on our ICT wall, alongside some top tips on how to stay safe online.

Today the children started their inner and outer self portraits. The children were asked to draw one half as a true representation of themselves and how they look. The other half of the portrait had to represent who they are inside. This could include their hobbies, favourite food, feelings, qualities, etc.
