Newspaper Planning 🗞️💭

Today we began preparations for our first set of interviews and started to design a new logo for the newspaper.

We worked in pairs and small group to create questions that we can ask the teachers and classes who will be featured in our first edition.

Cooking Italy 🇮🇹 Pizza 🍕

Today, we were very excited to make our own pizzas from scratch.  We started by adding flour, baking powder, oil, water, and stirring together.  We then had to kneed our dough and make pizza shape. Finally, we added tomatoes and mozzarella and put them in the oven to cook 🍕

Class Newspaper 📰 & Line Points! ⭐

We had a great start to the week after we won the line points for Primary 6!

Yesterday we spent time making presentations or writing letters to apply for jobs in our class newspaper. The jobs included photographer, Editor in Chief, Journalist and the Digital Team 📰

Miss Hardie encouraged us to use persuasive language to convince her why we would be suitable for the role. We had to explain the relevant skills we have and any experience that could help us be successful.

Cooking Italy 🇮🇹 Penne Arrabiata 🍝

Today for Gastronomers we made penne arrabiata 🍝 we started by cutting chilli, onion and garlic then fried these together in a pan. After, we added tomato, stock and seasoning.

Meanwhile we cooked the pasta in the pot. Once it was ready we drained the pasta and mixed it together with the sauce.

Then it was time to serve and tidy up!

Author & Makerspace Visit 📚🎨

Today we enjoyed visiting the new Makerspace area and learning all about the different sections that we can use during our Designers block 🎨🏗️

We were also very lucky to be part of the author visit with Martin Stewart who told us all about his new book Bridget Vanderpruff and the Baked Escape! 📚

First week of Primary 6 ⭐️

Primary 6.20 enjoyed exploring their new class this week.  We were learning about our rights and selected the rights that were most important to us for our class Charter. We began developing our cursive handwriting skills and revising our numeracy through Prodigy and mental maths games 👌🏼

Natural musical masterpieces

What  a marvellous afternoon of music making we enjoyed today!

Our first activity involved word making using stones and we were amazed at just how many words we could make out of ten stones!

We then focused on investigating rhythms …. and after that we moved on to creating some wonderful sounds using natural materials. I am sure you will agree we sound great!
