Mini beast hunting , analysing and recording

The weather was sunny and warm this afternoon as we searched and studied some mini beasts. There were lots of them crawling and flying and squirming around today so we think they like nice sunny days too.

We used magnifying glasses to study them in detail and noticed lots of interesting things about each one we saw. We learned that centipedes have only one pair of legs on each segment of their bodies, while millipedes have two. We also noticed most insects have long antennae which they use to detect danger by feeling changes in air movement around them.

It it was early interesting to record our findings in detailed labelled diagrams too. There was lots of excitement and sharing of information and descriptions as we worked this afternoon too.
