Colour matching, flower studying and creating

The weather threatened to soak us for the whole afternoon, but we were very fortunate that it decided to spare us and let us enjoy a dry session outdoors!

We started off discussing colour, how colours change, shades of different colours and names of different colours. This was a great extension of the learning we had been doing in class with Miss Trouten earlier on in the day on Van Gogh.

After that we used some old supermarket brochures and worked on some colour matching. It really is amazing how many different colours we found outside in nature.

We then moved on to create some daisies and our own flowers using very little paint and natural paintbrushes, like buttercups, wild plantain and daisies themselves! I am sure you will agree our creations are fabulous!
