National 4 and 5

 National 4 & 5 Geography 

The aim of the National level courses is to develop pupils’ knowledge and understanding of Geography about people, how we live in, adapt to and change our planet.  It is the science of the environment, related to people.  Geography is part social science and part physical science.

The National Level Geography course is split into three units:

  • Physical Environments.
  • Human Environments.
  • Global Issues

Physical Environments:

  • Weather.
  • Glaciation. (Field trip to Loch Lomond)
  • Coasts.

Human Environments:

  • Urban Geography.
  • Population.
  • Rural Geography.

Global Issues:

  • Climate Change
  • Health.

Exam Structure:

  • Exam question paper /80 worth 80% of final grade
  • Assignment /20 worth 20% of final grade
