Summer Planning – Why we do what we do (our beginning)

As a staff team we continuously review the opportunities and experiences our children have been exposed to throughout the year. This gives us great insight into areas that have been well covered such as literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing and areas that could be doing with further exploration. Unfortunately due to Covid-19 restrictions a lot of our more social and creative areas weren’t as explored as we would have liked, therefore there will be lots of opportunity throughout the coming weeks for each child to experience these through play, provocation and good old curiosity. Each week a member of our team will upload a recap of this onto each child’s individual online profile. This gives families a chance to see all the curricular areas that have been covered whilst our children simply feel like they have been having fun with their friends – exactly how it should be!

Individual next steps for children have now been closed and for the duration of the Summer the children’s learning will be tracked focusing more on breadth and depth of experience/opportunity appose to individual progression and development – please do not be confused by this though, we will still be scaffolding and tracking each child’s learning, just using a more holistic/generic approach to do so.
