Work Experience

To Parents/Carers of S4 Pupils

The following information about work experience placements will be shared with all S4 pupils at Wellbeing and in PSE classes:

  • All S4 pupils have the opportunity to attend a work placement throughout the course of the year, usually for one week.  This can take place any time throughout the year, but you should try to avoid the run-up to prelims and exams.  There are some work placement opportunities available on WorkIt and you will shortly receive an email to your Glow inbox with a username and log in which will allow you to access the site.

  • Your PSE teacher will show you how to navigate the site.  You can also take part in a self-found work placement if you have family or friends who would be happy for you to engage in a placement with them.  Please come and speak to me if you wish to pursue this.

  • In addition to the above, some self-found placements will require a health and safety check to be completed before placements take place and the school is responsible for organising these checks.  Naturally, this can take some time to organise so can you please ensure that your children and young people take this into account when considering a self-found placement.  In short, we need some notice to facilitate these types of placements.
