Outdoor Learning

The Duke of Edinburgh Award equips young people for life regardless of their background, culture, physical ability, skills and interests. Doing the Award is a personal challenge and it pushes young people to their personal limits and recognises their achievements. This year we have over 120 pupils signed up for the Bronze or Silver Duke of Edinburgh Award with the award being offered to S4 pupils for the first time. Pupils will take part in a number of expeditions and they will develop their transferrable skills by completing their skills, physical and volunteering sections of the award.

The John Muir Award is a national environmental award scheme. It encourages people to connect with, enjoy and care for wild places. This year, a number of our S4 pupils will be developing projects to help them make connection to the world around them and work towards achieving this fantastic award.
