Well done to Poppy in 1O2 who competed at the Scottish Schools National Swimming Finals in Aberdeen.
Poppy did so well, having never competed in a 50 meter pool before. In the heat, she got a personal best and qualified for the 50m fly National final, where she finished in 8th place.
She loved competing and representing Kilmarnock Academy at her first ever National event.
One of our dedicated S1s, Georgie, attended the Maths Circle at Edinburgh University this weekend where she enjoyed tackling various challenging maths and logic puzzles, including the Towers of Hanoi in this picture. Georgie is looking forward to taking part in various other mathematical enrichment opportunities in the future.
On Tuesday Bogdan, Erin, Robyn and Abigail did a great job representing the school and, indeed, East Ayrshire at the Enterprising Maths National Final. They had fun exploring the science centre at lunchtime, even challenging Mr Craig to a game of 4-way air hockey!
We are pleased to announce that Lucie B in S5 has been selected to represent Scotland in the WU17 UEFA Tournament in Poland from 11th-20th of March in Poznan, Poland. This builds on her success with both Kilmarnock and Scotland. Everyone at Kilmarnock Academy is behind you Lucie.
Mr Rose was delighted to congratulate Euan and Rohan who have been selected to play for the Under 18 Boys International Football Team which is an outstanding achievement from our two Killie lads. Â The two boys have been part of our Kilmarnock School of Football programme and also represented the school and region along their journey. Â We are all very proud of both of them.
