Theatre Trip

Our S4 National 5 English pupils enjoyed a valuable learning experience this week as they attended the Gaiety Theatre’s performance of Sailmaker. Having studied the text in class, the trip offered pupils the chance to see the characters and themes brought vividly to life on stage.

The production deepened their understanding of the play’s central ideas—family, loss, responsibility and social class—while also allowing them to appreciate how staging, lighting, performance and sound can enhance a text they already know well.

This live interpretation will support pupils as they continue to analyse the play in preparation for their National 5 exam, helping them connect their classroom learning with the emotional impact of live theatre.

✨ Huge congratulations to our new S3 Prefects! ✨
Today they completed their prefect training and are ready to take on their new leadership roles with confidence, kindness and pride.
They showed fantastic teamwork, communication and commitment throughout the programme — we can’t wait to see the positive impact they’ll make across the school 🌟
Well done, S3 Prefects! 👏💙

Focus West

We took 30 S4 pupils to the University of Strathclyde as part of the Focus West Widening Participation initiative. They worked on study skills, mindsets, minimising study stress and worry. Our pupils got to work with excellent student mentors who were always willing to answer questions and offer relevant advice to give a better understanding of studying at university. As always, they were a credit to themselves and the school. #focuswest #strathclyde
