The Sunflower class had an amazing time celebrating MOVE day. Everyone was dressed as a superhero of their choice and we loved showing off our costumes on our outing this morning. Each child enjoyed painting their own superhero mask and took part in our garden Villian hunt in true hero style. To end the day, we ate our superhero cakes and enjoyed bubbles, dancing and balloon games during our very own superhero party.
Effective ContributorsÂ
The Sunflower’s class have been practicing following instructions and sharing space as they actively take part in our parachute games. Each child was able to hold and move the parachute to create a breeze together . They have also enjoyed moving balls and objects on top of the parachute and launching them into the air during our counting songs. Each child was able to take turns during our passing activities. Lying underneath the parachute was very relaxing too!

This week, the Sunflower’s class have actively participated in a variety of group activities. Each child has engaged in a Interactive Board game with a peer and was able to make choices by selecting their favourite songs and games. The Sunflower’s also loved participating in a penguin race and watching the penguins move up the steps. Each child was able to press the arrows on our bee bots to follow the road map to their destination too!

Confident Individuals and Responsible CitizensÂ
Whilst out in the garden, the Sunflowers were on the look out for some coloured bugs! Each child used our magnifying glasses to find the bugs and collected them with their trowels. Afterwards, the bugs were sorted into their colours and matched to their partners. Everyone also completed a cut and stick activity by sticking their favourite bugs to their jars.
Successful Learners and Confident Individuals
Today, the Sunflower’s enjoyed using wooden blocks to create a multi-coloured brick effect using a variety of shapes . Each child was able to choose shapes and dip them in colour of their choice. We even practiced naming the shapes. Afterwards, everyone used our shape finders to look for similar shapes in the garden.
The Sunflowers have had a fun week taking part in Jack and The Beanstalk activities. We have all enjoyed building a castle in the clouds using foam and bricks. Each child also took part in building a beanstalk using our number bricks alongside lots of story activities and character matching. We all had fun planting our magic beans to make our own beanstalk and colour matching them.
Successful Learners
For one of our fine motor skills tasks this week, we have been working on the threading of the magic harp from the Jack and the Beanstalk story. We worked on following the pattern of the harp and carefully threading it to match the picture from the book.
Confident Individuals
To celebrate Earth Day, our class enjoyed a variety of activities. We made our own Earth images using foam and green and blue paint. We also practiced overwriting the word Earth and ordering numbers to complete an Earth picture puzzle.

This week, the Sunflowers have had lots of Easter fun. We enjoyed sensory play, making tissue chicks, colour matching egg games and egg painting. The children have also made Easter baskets and took part in an Easter egg hunt in the garden. We finished the week by making Easter cakes and decorating biscuits. Today, everyone enjoyed outdoor play together as we will really miss each other over the next two weeks!

Successful Learners
The Sunflower’s have worked extremely hard on their numeracy tasks this week. We have been colour matching with pompoms, drawing and tracing shapes and building numbers using playdough and number blocks. We also enjoyed a number hunt in our rainbow rice using numicon.
