Melted Snowman Biscuits

* RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS *

The boys in the Daisies class loved today’s baking activity where they got to make melted snowmen biscuits. They enjoyed mark making the marshmallow using the edible icing pens to make a snowman face. They spread icing sugar over digestive biscuits and placed the snowman’s head on top and then added buttons using smarties.

Most of the boys tasted some of the ingredients and enjoyed having their biscuits at snack the next day.

Focused Areas of Learning – Science – Exploding Snowmen!

* SUCCESSFUL LEARNERS, CONFIDENT INDIVIDUALS, RESPONSIBLE CITIZENS, EFFECTIVE CONTRIBUTORS *

The Daisies class had great fun with our science experiment today. We decorated zip lock bags with snowmen faces. We added 3 teaspoons of baking soda to the centre of a piece of tissue paper and wrapped it up. We placed the tissue paper parcel in the bottom of the ziplock bag. Finally, we added a cup of vinegar and then had to be very quick to zip our bag up!

We observed the zip lock bag filling with air and puffing out. We absolutely loved this!
