We tested out some of the casino games we have acquired, designed our invites and finished off some of our centrepieces. We were very responsible citizens and worked hard to follow all instructions during each activity.

Pancake Fun!
We celebrated shrove Tuesday this week by making our own pancakes! We enjoyed learning about the ingredients, making a shopping list and sequencing the recipe card the day before. We then practised our money handling skills and communication by ordering our toppings and paying for them using a price list! We were successful learners and effective contributors throughout the morning.

The Beech class worked hard today during our active numeracy session. We are experiencing the different number processes and today we focused on subtraction. Café!
Skye, Nicole and Milly were lucky enough to be invited along to our community café this morning. Our café is hosted by some other secondary pupils, including our very own Beech girl, Gemma. Gemma used her number knowledge to work the tills and communicated effectively. Nicole and Skye very much enjoyed the café experience and used excellent verbal communication to order and then use good manners after they finished. A lovely morning had by all – very responsible citizens!
The Beech class looked at different newspapers and TV guides this week to try and find pictures, logos or words that we recognise. We then generated a group or paired discussions about the things we like and dislike and what we watch on television at home. Through our discussions we managed to create our own personalised TV guide showing what our favourite programmes and what day they are on TV. The group were successful learner’s and showed great communication by recognising and responding to a variety of images and words.
Some of the Beech pupils enjoyed an outing on the public bus to our local café. The focus of our outing was communication and choice. Every pupil used their voice or a communication device to ask for a bus ticket and effectively use their bus pass. We then safely walked through town to a café and made our choices for food and drink, remembering to use sentences and a clear voice. We then each paid for our snack independently, listening and responding to the waitress. We were very successful learners!
Well done, guys!
