Hi! My name is Mrs Burgoyne and I am a trained Mindfulness teacher here at RBA! We are now offering pupils the opportunity to attend an 8 week Mindfulness course to help balance out the pressures of school and life. Please take a look at the leaflet which will explain to you the purpose of these sessions and how it could benefit you.
There are two programmes pupils can become involved in. One is called .b and the other is .breathe.
.b
- Pupils will attend in small groups once a week for a total of 10 weeks.
- Pupils will be given 9 sessions consisting of 9 different themes.
- Pupils will have home practice to try to do every week.
- Pupils will get a certificate on the completion of the course.
- Pupils will then be asked take part in an evaluation lesson to get their views on how they feel the sessions have supported them.
.breathe
- This consists of 5 sessions.
- The main purpose of this is to aid key transition times and would normally be delivered before the .b sessions. For example, moving from Primary to Secondary school.
Here is our first ever Mindfulness Group at RBA on their completion of their 10 week course! Through their evaluations they have found this course very helpful and will use the tools they have learned to help them in their day to day life. We use the Immersive Cinema here at RBA to deliver these sessions in a calming and relaxed environment.
