We were feeling very festive as we had many parents and friends join us for a Christmas Cuppa. They were entertained by some of our pupils singing Christmas songs. This took place outside round our Christmas tree.πŸŽ„. Thank you to all who wrapped up Β warm and enjoyed the wonderful singing.πŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸ½β­οΈβ˜•οΈ

Home Alone – oh no we weren’t!

Our P6 and P7 pupils performed an amazing production of Home Alone. Everyone worked so hard and performed the show to the whole school and also three times to our families Β and our community. All performances were excellent – fantastic effort from all pupils and staff. πŸ‘πŸ‘β­οΈ

Singing for Hansel🎼🎀

Primary 3 pupils went to Sing for Hansel at Morrisons Β Supermarket. They sang beautifully and entertained the shoppers and made them feel very Christmassy.πŸŽ…πŸ½πŸ§‘πŸ»β€πŸŽ„Thank you to the many parents and friends who came along to hear the singing.πŸ‘πŸ‘.

Christmas Carol Concert πŸŽ€πŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸΌ

Our fabulous Primary 3s made us all feel very Christmassy as they entertained Parents/Carers and friends. They sang a selection of Christmas songs and even had audience participation while singing The 12 Days of Christmas. It was wonderful to welcome so many friends back Β into school. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event – a fabulous experience. β€œIt’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas”.πŸ‘πŸ‘

Some of our P3 Choir will be singing in Morrisons, Kilmarnock on Wednesday at 1.00pm. They are singing for Hansel. Please come along and support them.

We are very excited to share information on our P7 production of β€˜Home Alone’, our first in-school, Christmas performance in 3 years!

P7 have been working incredibly hard alongside our P6 choir to bring festive joy to our whole school community this Christmastime.

 

Performances:

Tuesday 13th Dec 9.30am – 11.15am (Shaw S as Kevin)

Wednesday 14th Dec 7pm – 8.45pm (Ollie S as Kevin)

Thursday 15th Dec 7pm – 8.45pm (Shaw S as Kevin)

*Please note Ollie S will perform his second show as Kevin for the school at a separate showing for pupils*

 

Tickets:

Tickets are available NOW via ParentPay at Β£4 per person including festive refreshments at the interval. Children under 5 years old are not required to buy a ticket.

After you have completed the ParentPay sign up, your child will be issued your tickets to bring home.

 

Seating:

Seating is unreserved. We kindly encourage you to arrive between 6.30pm – 6.45pm (evening show) and 9.05am – 9.15am (daytime show) to take your seats. There will be no admission to the hall before 9.05am/6.30pm.

Community Visit 🎼

Primary 2G and Miss Gall made Christmas Cards for all the residents in Crossgates Β Care Home. They were personally delivered and P2 sang to the residents who listened from their windows. Lots of clapping and cheering could be heard outside. Thank you everyone πŸ‘πŸŽ…πŸΌπŸ§‘πŸΌβ€πŸŽ„.

St Andrew’s Day Tea Dances 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

We were delighted to welcome so many families to our St Andrew’s Day Tea Dance. It was a day of fun and celebration and was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves dancing. Today’s music was provided by 2 pupils and a teacher from Kilmarnock Academy- they played all day and did a fantastic job. Well done to our P7 pupils and Mrs Carten for leading the dances. A huge thank you to Mr Swan for his exuberance in keeping it all going and entertaining us all.πŸ‘Thank you to everyone for your generous donations .⭐️

Fabulous Four from P5 Onthank

Abigail, Rowan, Lacey and Elise have been really busy over the last month, fundraising for Hillhouse Charity in Kilmarnock. They made a video to highlight their Christmas appeal for new pyjamas and toiletries for local families in need.
They attend the 15th Kilmarnock Brownies and they wanted to do their Charity badge. They chose Hillhouse to help, as they are a local charity.
They collected 56 pairs of pyjamas and numerous toiletry sets. They were delighted to deliver them all tonight. Hillhouse also delighted with their efforts! πŸ™‚

Anti-Bullying Week #ListenUpRespectOurRights

What a week so far at #OurOnthank as we #ListenUp and spread awareness for respectme Scotland Anti-Bullying week campaign ‘Respect our Rights’.
We’ve seen odd socks, many a crazy hairstyle, and united in red to support Show Racism the Red Card.

Our young people have designed ‘One Kind Word’ compliment hands for each other, created Community Kindness messages for local friends, and will be led by our Pupil Council and RRS Ambassador tomorrow in their own assembly.

P6 Chromebook Visit

Thank you to all of the P6 parents who came to visit on Friday.Β  Our pupils enjoyed showing you what we have been up to with the Chromebooks.Β  Β Remember – keep checking your child’s Book Creator account with them to keep up to date with their writing work.

Also, thank you so much for sharing your views on our digital technology pilot scheme with the staff members present on the day.Β  Your feedback is greatly appreciated and will help inform the authority’s next steps regarding one-to-one devices.

Harvest deliveriesπŸ₯«πŸ₯«

Our RRS Ambassadors delivered many bags to The Food Bank at NWKLEUS .
We also  had representatives from Knockinlaw Branching Out Community Initiative come to collect more bags and boxes of harvest items. These were very gratefully received by both places. A huge thank you to all who donated items towards our Harvest for our community. ⭐️

Please be reminded our After School Activities programmeΒ starts this week, fromΒ Wednesday 26 October.Β 
All families who completed the online form to sign up should have received an email from Mr Swan before the October break to confirm their child’s place and the start/end dates. Please check this email to confirm details.

Children will be collected by a staff member from their class at the end of the school day and taken to their activity.Β

World Porridge Day

Thank you to everyone who donated to World Porridge Day Charity- Mary’s Meals. We collected Β£121.68 . Thanks to our Parent Council helpers – Lindsay & Jackie and our RRS Ambassadors for their help with our bucket collection. Everyone was invited to taste porridge today: Β some said β€œno thank you” and others loved it!
