Lots of super learning has been taking place since we have returned to school. Looking forward to where our learning will take us this year!

Children enjoyed their Maths lesson today as we consolidated knowledge on Time conversion
and then we developed mathematical calculations by playing an extended game of Bingo. They were also challenged whilst playing Three Card Trump and Game 500. These are games you can play at home to help support your child with times tables and number operations.
Could I also remind pupils and parents that a new page has been set up using Microsoft Teams and children can access it through their normal Glow login. Mrs Wright has set up a survey for all pupils to complete and I have included a copy of our class poem. Teams can be accessed using phones, tablets, laptops, xBox and PS4.
If you would like any more details about using Teams, please do not hesitate to contact me – or ask your child’s friends if they have been at school this week.
Mrs Irving
P.S. I have updated Maths games on Bug Club to help revise Decimals, Fractions and Percentages.
Today we finally heard all presentations and had a chance to see all 25 castles. What a successful homework project this turned out to be. Each and every castle had at least one element that stood out from the rest, making the decision to choose 3 winners really hard. In fact, so hard, I asked Mrs Findlay to do the honours.
I hope you enjoy looking at the efforts of all P5i children, and again, accept my thanks for supporting your child to complete their task and to be such successful learners. Well done one and all.
Many congratulations to Kye, Megan and Lyle for your super castles. You made Mrs Findlay’s job even harder.
Mrs Irving
Wow, didn’t they do well!
Primary 5i, 5K and 5T took part today in reciting their poems to their peers. Congratulations for the fantastic effort put in by all.
Finalists will be chosen by Thursday to represent their class at assembly next week. Good luck to all!
Team P5 🙂
Hi all,
Now I have received blog training, I can now access and post on the Primary 5 blog (I hope). I am excited to share with you pictures of the hard work being done in Primary 5T and any other information that may be of interest. Thank you to Mrs Irving who has been posting on my behalf until I got set up.
Our new topic this term, Knights and Castles, is well underway and Primary 5T had a great time working in small groups to recreate a Motte and Bailey Castle using different materials as you can see. We are also in the process of creating our own Coat of Arms which we hope to make into a shield in the coming weeks. Thank you to those who have brought in some cardboard, we greatly appreciate it.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about any aspect of our topic. Thank you!
Miss Telford 🙂
Pupils had a super day doing various activities connected with Pudsey and to health and well being. Thank you all for your generous donations.
The day started off well with a school fitness session and ended with a gymnastic marathon circuit for P.E., so children should be well exercised – and worn out.
We also watched recording of pupils reciting their Owl and the Pussycat poem and two winners were chosen for their super actions and recital. Many congratulations to Luke and Ellie.
Pupils are now looking forward to learning our next poem! Go P5i.
Thank you to the parents who handed in empty plastic bottles for our experiment today.
This week our focus was on the function of our lungs. In P5i we did a lung capacity experiment where we recorded how much air we could breath in and blow out. Quite a few got out of puff rather quickly. But too much laughing could have been to blame.
This afternoon we proved that 4 does go into 3 when all P5s were spilt into 3 classes to enable us to perform another experiment. This time we used the empty bottles to show how our lungs function. Some pupils were more successful making fake lungs than others. They don’t make plastic bottles like they used to and many just buckled when children tried to pull a balloon over the ends. However, they had fun trying.
