As discussed with the children today please find attached a copy of the homework challenge that has been set for all Primary 5 classes. Homework Challenge Build a Castle
If you have any questions regarding the task, please don’t hesitate to contact us. We can’t wait to see and hear all about them!
It was a very hard decision, but many congratulations to Luke who was chosen to represent our class in next week’s poetry competition.
Also worth celebrating was the completion of our class shields. A lot of thought and effort has gone into making them, and as you can see, everyone is delighted with their efforts. Now we just have to find some space to display them?
Pupils who wish to be entered for the Scots Poetry Competition on Thursday 6 February, will have the opportunity to recite their poem to all of their P5 peers on Monday, and one pupil will be chosen to represent each class. Good luck to those taking part.
Primary 5T had a great session yesterday with Christine from Childsmile as part of our Health and Wellbeing programme. The children worked in teams to complete a sugar quiz. This involved looking at the contents of different food items and trying to work out how much sugar was in each. The children are now aware of how to check food labels, the contents their food contains and the benefits of looking after their teeth.
Well the children have finally made a start on their shields, and boy, are they keen. They have carefully cut out the frame and are now transferring their symbols and codes on to each quadrant. They really will be works of art by the time they are finished. Well done P5i.
Now I have received blog training, I can now access and post on the Primary 5 blog (I hope). I am excited to share with you pictures of the hard work being done in Primary 5T and any other information that may be of interest. Thank you to Mrs Irving who has been posting on my behalf until I got set up.
Our new topic this term, Knights and Castles, is well underway and Primary 5T had a great time working in small groups to recreate a Motte and Bailey Castle using different materials as you can see. We are also in the process of creating our own Coat of Arms which we hope to make into a shield in the coming weeks. Thank you to those who have brought in some cardboard, we greatly appreciate it.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions about any aspect of our topic. Thank you!
This is an overview of what we are teaching in all P5 classes this term. Subjects ad Topics are not taught in any particular order, but we aim to cover as many as we can.
